Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) is a routing protocol developed for IP networks based on the "shortest path first" or link-state algorithm.
Routers use link-state algorithms to send routing information to all nodes in an network by calculating the shortest path to each node. Each router sends that portion of the routing table that describes the state of its own links, and it also sends the complete routing structure.
The Avici implementation of OSPF is compliant with:
- RFC 1587 - The OSPF NSSA Option
- RFC 2328 - OSPF Version 2
- Internet draft draft-katz-yeung-ospf-traffic-01.txt - Traffic Engineering Extensions to OSPF
Use the commands described in this chapter to:
- Enable and disable OSPF routing
- Configure OSPF areas, networks and neighbors
- Configure OSPF virtual links
- Configure OSPF timers
- Configure OSPF authentication
- Display the OSPF configuration
