spf-interval
Sets the maximum frequency that the Dijkstra routing calculation algorithm can run.
Syntax: spf-interval seconds
no spf-interval [seconds]
seconds
Number of seconds to wait before running the Dijkstra algorithm again. Valid values are 0 - 120.
Description: The shortest path first (SPF) algorithm runs for Level 1 and for Level 2 on a periodic basis. Increasing the amount of time between SPF calculations might reduce the total amount of time your router spends doing these calculations. However, the routing tables are more likely to contain out-of-date information if the algorithm runs less frequently.
Use the spf-interval seconds command to configure the number of seconds between running the routing algorithm.
Use the no spf-interval seconds command to configure the number of seconds between running the routing algorithm at the default value of 5 seconds.
Factory Default: 5 seconds.
Command Mode: Router configuration.
Example: In the following example:
- The router isis command enables IS-IS on the router, specifies an IS-IS instance, and changes the command mode to Router configuration,
- The spf-interval seconds command configures the number of seconds between running the SPF algorithm to 10 seconds,
- The show running-config isis command displays the setting:
router(config)#router isis npi
router(config-router)#spf-interval 10
router(config-router)#end
router#show run isis
